Basketball Recap: Washington Comes Up Short

Washington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were beaten by the Highland Park Scots 52-20. The Wildcats were down 45-15 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Highland Park got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tahtionna Broils out in front who almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine boards. Broils is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in each of the last four games she's played. Ciara Hartz was another key player, putting up nine points and five steals.

Washington's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Highland Park, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Highland Park beat Washington by a score of 59-13 on Tuesday.
