Baseball Game Preview: Frederick Golden Eagles vs. Skyline Falcons

The Frederick Golden Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Skyline Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Frederick is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Saturday just wasn't the day for Frederick's offense. They lost 7-0 to Holy Family on Saturday.

Frederick saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Clapp, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Skyline came up short against Holy Family on Monday, falling 17-6.

Matt Lanier made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Sam Wright was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Skyline has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14-1 record this season. As for Frederick, their loss dropped their record down to 8-13.

Frederick might still be hurting after the 12-6 defeat they got from Skyline in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Golden Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
