Preview: Spring Mountain Eagles vs. Round Mountain Knights
Spring Mountain is 7-0 against Round Mountain since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Spring Mountain Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Round Mountain Knights at 5:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a seven-game winning streak alive.
In what's become a running theme this season, Spring Mountain gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Beatty 62-21 at home. While fans of Spring Mountain might be used to big wins, the 41-point margin marked the team's biggest victory yet this season.
Round Mountain only won by three when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 46-point they dealt Beatty on Friday. Round Mountain claimed a resounding 70-24 victory over Beatty at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Round Mountain has managed all season.
It was another big night for Keiran Swafford, who went 8 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 46 points and 2 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Blake Bullington was another key contributor, shooting 4-for-5 from downtown and dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten assists.
Spring Mountain pushed their record up to 13-3 with that win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points per game. As for Round Mountain, their win bumped their record up to 14-3.
Spring Mountain came out on top in a nail-biter against Round Mountain in their previous matchup back in January, sneaking past 57-55. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Bullington, who scored 31 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Spring Mountain still be able to contain Bullington? There's only one way to find out.
