Dover-Eyota proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 15) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Cotter Ramblers 6-5. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Ramblers: they've now won three in a row.

Aubrey Foster spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on ten hits.

At the plate, Dover-Eyota let Jaidyn Ihrke and Shelby Clark run wild. Ihrke went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Clark went 1-for-3 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Kennedy Gust, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

The victory got Dover-Eyota back to even at 3-3. As for Cotter, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dover-Eyota will head out to take on Randolph at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Cotter, they will venture away from home to square off against Plainview-Elgin-Millville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
