Baseball Game Preview: Sterling Raiders vs. Waltrip Rams

Sterling is 0-10 against Waltrip since April of 2019 but things could change on Wednesday. The Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Rams at 7:00 p.m. Sterling has given up an average of 10.8 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Sterling is headed into Wednesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Thursday. They lost 13-2 to Spring Woods.

Meanwhile, Waltrip had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.2 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Marlins a 12-0 shutout. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 games by six runs or more this season.

Waltrip's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-6. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Sterling, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12-1.

Sterling might still be hurting after the 18-0 defeat they got from Waltrip in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can the Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
