Chipley won the last time they faced Ponce De Leon and things went their way on Thursday too. The Tigers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Pirates.

Kinleigh Peel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Chipley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kenzlee Nelson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Chipley's record now sits at 15-4. As for Ponce De Leon, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Chipley will head out to face off against Marianna at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.24 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Ponce De Leon, they are taking a road trip to challenge Blountstown at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
