Preview: Alta Hawks vs. Highland Rams

The Alta Hawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Highland Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Alta has ten straight victories, the Rams have 15 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Tuesday, Alta earned a 58-46 win over the Eagles.

Meanwhile, Highland was the victim of a rough 53-31 loss at the hands of the Bengals on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Highland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Bengals are ranked 27th).

Danae Asiata was Highland's leading scorer, having posted 11 points. Grace Szwedko held things down on the boards with eight rebounds.

Alta's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Highland, their loss dropped their record down to 0-14.

Everything came up roses for Alta against the Rams in their previous meeting back in January as the squad secured a 56-28 win. Will Alta repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
