League recap: Hazleton's Zaloga delivers best pitching performance from past week

Anthony Zaloga was the best pitcher in Wyoming Valley 1 this week. His stat line for the week included one win and nine Ks.

James M. Coughlin made the biggest jump in the standings this week, moving from ninth to sixth place in the league thanks to a 5-2 record over the past seven days. Meanwhile, Pittston fell hardest in the standings, dropping from fifth all the way to seventh place after going 0-1 in the past week. Wyoming Valley West (11-1, 10-1) is now in first place.

Hazleton's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 17 hits and 11 walks to lead the league in both categories. On the season, the Cougars have allowed just 74 hits, while striking out 79 batters. Zaloga leads the Cougars with 51 strikeouts in 43 innings.
