Basketball Recap: J.I. Burton Takes a Loss

J.I. Burton was the 70-55 winner over Twin Springs when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The J.I. Burton Black Raiders fell 50-43 to the Twin Springs Titans on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Black Raiders came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while the Titans are ranked 217th).

J.I. Burton's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 18-3. As for Twin Springs, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-8.

J.I. Burton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Twin Springs, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Cumberland Gap at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
