Basketball Recap: Santa Rosa Takes a Loss

If Santa Rosa was feeling good fresh off their 73-41 takedown of Tucumcari last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Santa Rosa Lions took a 71-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pecos Panthers. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 75-72.

Santa Rosa's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 20-4. As for Pecos, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.

Coincidentally, Santa Rosa and Pecos will both be playing Estancia the next time they take the court. Pecos will head out to face Estancia at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Santa Rosa will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
