Baseball Recap: Anderson Triumphs

Anderson hadn't beaten Milford on the road since May 7, 2021 but that history sure didn't bother them on Thursday. The Raptors walked away with a 6-2 win over the Eagles. The victory continues a trend for the Raptors in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won three in a row.

Brennan Trowbridge tossed a big game, pitching 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hudson Best, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Anderson is 7-1 when Best posts two or more runs, but 6-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Tommy Huster, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Anderson's win bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Milford, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Anderson will head out to challenge West Clermont at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Milford, they will venture away from home to square off against Loveland at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season.
