Baseball Recap: Upper Perkiomen Has No Trouble Against Norristown

Upper Perkiomen was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Norristown on Monday. The Indians were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Eagles. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Jackson Long made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Jack Rieg was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Zane Saeger, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Upper Perkiomen's victory bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Norristown, they dropped their record down to 4-12 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Upper Perkiomen will square off against rival Pottsgrove at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Norristown is set to face off against their familiar foe Upper Merion Area at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
