Football Preview: Sutton Mustangs vs. Bloomfield Bees
Two dominant backs in Connor Hinrichs and Brock Jeannoutot are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Sutton Mustangs will square off against the Bloomfield Bees at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sutton will be strutting in after a win while Bloomfield will be coming in after a defeat.
While Sutton's victory against Tri County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Mustangs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 24-22 win over the Trojans on Friday. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska football rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Trojans are ranked 86th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Griffin Bergen went supernova, rushing for 152 yards and two TDs. Those 152 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Sutton also got a significant boost from Creighton Jones, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 90 yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Sutton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 304 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tri County only rushed for 52.

Meanwhile, Bloomfield suffered their biggest loss since September 20, 2024 on Thursday. They were outmatched by Hartington-Newcastle and fell 49-14. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Bees' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.
Sutton pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.5 points over those games. As for Bloomfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.
