Volleyball Recap: Toronto Takes a Loss

Toronto entered their match against Heartland Christian on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Red Knights fell just short of the Lions by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 last Wednesday.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Toronto sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-18, 18-25, 25-12, 24-26, 15-10.

Jayna Reeves paced Toronto's offense, picking up 13 kills. Reeves got some help from JJ Rebich and her 13 assists. Rebich was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Toronto's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Heartland Christian, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Looking ahead, Toronto will venture away from home to take on Conotton Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Heartland Christian, they will welcome David Anderson at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
