Softball Recap: San Juan Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

San Juan had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with an 11-8 victory over the Richfield Wildcats on Saturday. The Broncos have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wildcats, too.

Averie Gilson was incredible, scoring four runs while going 3-for-5. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Miley Harrison, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

San Juan hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 3-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

San Juan's win bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Richfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-10.

Coming up, San Juan will face off against North Summit at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Richfield has already played their next contest (against Altamont), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
