Basketball Recap: Lincoln County Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Lake Oconee Academy typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Lincoln County proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Lake Oconee Academy Titans by a score of 49-40. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 60-53 two weeks ago.

Several Titans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Canon Mullen, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 boards. Those 14 rebounds gave Mullen a new career-high. James Wright was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Lincoln County's victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-7. As for Lake Oconee Academy, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-7.

When Lincoln County and Lake Oconee Academy next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Lincoln County will face off against Warren County and their four-game winning streak at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Lake Oconee Academy will try to stop Greene County's five-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
