After losing to Bettye Davis East Anchorage the last time they met, Kodiak decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Bears won by a set and slipped past the Thunderbirds 1-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bears.

Maggie Hubert paced Kodiak's offense, picking up three kills. Hubert got some help from Fremela Garcia and her five assists. Melanie Gronn controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Kodiak's victory bumped their record up to 4-19-3. As for Bettye Davis East Anchorage, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season.

Coincidentally, Kodiak and Bettye Davis East Anchorage will both be playing Nikiski the next time they take the court. The Thunderbirds will head out to face the Bulldogs at 3:15 p.m. on Friday, while the Bears will play them later in the day, at 4:25 p.m.
