Baseball Recap: Trinity Christian Academy Wins Going Away Against Fayette Academy

Trinity Christian Academy barely beat Fayette Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lions blew past the Vikings 12-2 on Monday. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Max Richardson spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Joe Cole was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. He has become a key player for Trinity Christian Academy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 8-15-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Sargent, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Trinity Christian Academy's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 11-15-1. As for Fayette Academy, they dropped their record down to 8-9 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Trinity Christian Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Vikings: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
