Basketball Recap: Whitewater Comes Up Short

Whitewater was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss. They had to suffer through a 66-20 loss at the hands of the Fayette County Tigers. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-8.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fayette County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Journy Scott, who went 7 for 12 en route to 14 points along with five boards and four steals. Megan Ohonde was another key player, going 5 of 12 on her way to 12 points and four steals.

Whitewater's defeat dropped their record down to 1-21. As for Fayette County, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-4.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Whitewater Wildcats challenge the Spalding Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Whitewater is facing Spalding at the right time seeing as Spalding is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Fayette County, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-14 victory against LaGrange on the 29th.
