Softball Recap: Maspeth Takes a Loss

Maspeth was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Long Island City Bulldogs, falling 21-9. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 23-8 back in April.

Maspeth's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Long Island City, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maspeth will head out to challenge The Baccalaureate School for Global Education at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Sting will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Argos surely won't give up without a fight. As for Long Island City, they are taking a road trip to square off against Bryant at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
