Baseball Game Preview: Lower Richland Diamond Hornets vs. South Florence Bruins

For the first time this season, Lower Richland will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Friday. They will venture away from home to square off against the South Florence Bruins at 6:30 p.m. Lower Richland will be strutting in after a victory while South Florence will be coming in after a defeat.

Lower Richland will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs last Monday, then bounced right back against C.A. Johnson last Tuesday. Lower Richland walked away with a 13-8 win over C.A. Johnson.

Trenden Moye made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Dominic Tillman was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Carlos Thomas, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for South Florence's offense. They lost 10-0 to North Myrtle Beach on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for the Bruins in their meetings with the Chiefs: they've now lost nine in a row.

Lower Richland's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-0-1. As for South Florence, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
