Basketball Game Preview: Stockdale Brahmas vs. Nixon-Smiley Mustangs

The Stockdale Brahmas are taking a road trip to challenge the Nixon-Smiley Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams were dealt some close losses in their previous games and are determined not to let this one get away.

Last Tuesday, Stockdale didn't have quite enough to beat Luling and fell 40-37.

Meanwhile, Nixon-Smiley suffered their closest defeat since January 26, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Goliad by a score of 41-39. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Stockdale has been struggling recently as they've lost 15 of their last 19 matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-19 record this season. As for Nixon-Smiley, their loss dropped their record down to 9-17.

Stockdale was able to grind out a solid victory over Nixon-Smiley in their previous meeting back in January, winning 44-36. Will Stockdale repeat their success, or does Nixon-Smiley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
