Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Stansbury

Stansbury waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Granger Lancers, sneaking past 4-2.

Karmine Gallegos looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cooper Clark, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Miles Olsen, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Stansbury pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Granger, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Coincidentally, Stansbury and Granger will both be playing Cyprus the next time they take the field. Stansbury will host Cyprus at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, while Granger will host them at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
