Volleyball Recap: Lehigh Takes Down North Port in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Lehigh walked away with it. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the North Port Bobcats on Monday. The victory was nothing new for the Lightning as they're now sitting on seven straight.

The win didn't come easy: North Port scored at least 18 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-22, 12-25, 25-18.

Lehigh found their leader in sophomore Jocelyn Lopez, who had 25 digs and two aces. Lopez has been hot, having also posted 17 or more assists the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jayda Fleming, who had 14 kills, 12 digs, and two aces.

Natalie Shelton and Jaden Davis certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Shelton had 17 digs and three aces, while Davis had 14 digs.

Lehigh's victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for North Port, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season.

Lehigh wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Venice on the 14th. North Port does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
