Softball Game Preview: Monroe Bearcats vs. Jackson Timberwolves

Monroe is 2-8 against Jackson since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Bearcats will head out on the road to take on the Timberwolves at 4:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Monroe came up short against Woodinville on Wednesday, falling 18-6.

Brooke Boswell and Vivian Knuckey stepped up to the plate in a big way. Boswell went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Knuckey went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Meanwhile, Jackson fell victim to Ballard and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Beavers.

Jackson saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noelani Esguerra, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Jackson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Monroe, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Monroe might still be hurting after the 10-2 loss they got from Jackson in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Bearcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
