Winning always takes teamwork, but on Thursday Syree Matthews stepped things up a notch to give Moreno Valley the 'W'. Matthews threw for 161 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 15 passes, and also rushed for 50 yards. The performance also marked the most passer rating (130.8) he has had since back in August.

Matthews and Moreno Valley will take on Canyon Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Cougars thanks in part to Matthews: he rushed for 161 yards and two TDs on only 13 carries, and also threw for 168 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 passes.
