Football Recap: Jared White's Big Game Can't Quite Lead South Haven Christian over Providence Athletic Club

South Haven Christian kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Providence Athletic Club Panthers by a score of 36-34.

South Haven Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jared White, who rushed for 72 yards and a pair of scores on only eight carries, and also picked up 35 receiving yards. Another rusher making a difference was Kade Atkinson, who gained 132 total yards.

Coming up, South Haven Christian will venture away from home to challenge Tri-Cities Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Providence Athletic Club, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Jefferson Davis Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
