Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Braddock

Braddock waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 67-59 win over the Jackson Generals. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Braddock had a senior duo take command as Ray Estay went 7 for 15 en route to 19 points and three steals and Luca De La Paz dropped a double-double on 22 points and 17 boards. With that strong performance, De La Paz is now averaging an impressive 8.1 rebounds per game. Another player making a difference was Liano Lacayo, who posted eight points.

Braddock's victory bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Jackson, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.

Braddock and Jackson could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Braddock (ranked 473rd) will meet Sarasota (ranked 47th) at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Jackson will challenge Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday down 263 places (296 vs. 33).
