Basketball Recap: Morningside Academy Piles Up the Points Against Odyssey Charter School

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Morningside Academy). They claimed a resounding 64-19 victory over the Odyssey Charter School Titans. With the Eagles ahead 37-9 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Morningside Academy's win on Thursday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Arianah Wallace, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. Wallace has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 11 times she's played. Ari Mosley was another key player, putting up ten points and five steals.

Odyssey Charter School's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Ismarie Mercados, who posted nine points, and Janette McDonald, who put up six points.

Morningside Academy's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Odyssey Charter School, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.

Morningside Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 51-16 victory against Varsity Opponent on the 10th. As for Odyssey Charter School, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 32-29 loss against Melbourne Central Catholic on the 13th.
