Basketball Recap: Brooke Pfeiffer's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Haysville Campus over Goddard

Haysville Campus lost against Goddard back in January of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Haysville Campus Colts took a 37-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Goddard Lions. The Colts just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Haysville Campus' loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brooke Pfeiffer, who posted ten points and six rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Pfeiffer a new career-high in field goal percentage (60%). Emily Nedeau was another key player, putting up nine points.

Goddard's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Marayah Coleman led the charge by dropping a double-double with ten points and 13 boards. Another player making a difference was Sariah Potter, who went 6-for-14 en route to 13 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

Haysville Campus' defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Goddard, their victory bumped their record up to 6-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Haysville Campus will venture away from home to take on Hutchinson at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hutchinson will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Haysville Campus surely won't give up without a fight. As for Goddard, they will head out on the road to face off against Newton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Goddard is facing Newton at the right time seeing as Newton is stuck on a 15-game losing streak.
