The Nute Rams will head out on the road to square off against the Concord Christian Kingsmen at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Last Wednesday, Nute got the win against Holy Family Academy by a conclusive 14-4. Considering the Rams have won three matchups by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Beckett Viveiros and Brody Leeman made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Viveiros struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Leeman struck out six batters over two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Viveiros got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Leeman went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those two stolen bases gave Viveiros a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ethan Burrows, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. Brandon Bilodeau also deserves some recognition as he hit his first doubles of the season.
Meanwhile, Concord Christian put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Farmington 15-5. The Kingsmen might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by ten runs or more this season.
Like Nute, Concord Christian also got a great game from a two-way player: TJ Charbono. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. Charbono was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Concord Christian let Jackson Barton and Grady St Jean run wild. Barton went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while St Jean went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Annabelle Syvertson, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.
Concord Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Concord Christian pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 6.2 runs this season. As for Nute, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Nute has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .465. However, it's not like Concord Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .480. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Nute couldn't quite finish off Concord Christian in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
