Football Recap: Contreras Cobras vs. La Puente Warriors
Contreras fell victim to La Puente and their airtight defense on Thursday. They had to suffer through a 41-0 loss at the hands of the La Puente Warriors. The Cobras have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Leading La Puente to victory were Aaron Silva and Ezekeil Zamora. Silva rushed for 128 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry, while Zamora threw for 210 yards and three touchdowns. The dominant performance gave him a new career- in rushing yards. Junior Preyer was Zamora's top target, picking up 105 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Contreras' defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for La Puente, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Contreras has the luxury of staying home for another week and will welcome Marshall at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for La Puente, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Mendez at 7:00 p.m. on September 13th.
