Baseball Recap: Spackenkill Comes Up Short

Spackenkill's last matchup with Saugerties could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Wednesday. The Spartans lost 11-1 to the Sawyers. The Spartans have struggled against the Sawyers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Spackenkill's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Saugerties, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-5.

Looking ahead, Spackenkill will challenge Millbrook at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blazers have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season. Saugerties does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
