Recap: Bethlehem Central Eagles vs. Shaker Bison
The Bethlehem Central Eagles were the 56-52 winner over the Shaker Bison when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Bethlehem Central fell just short of Shaker by a score of 57-54. Bethlehem Central has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Shaker's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sierra Carter led the charge by scoring 19 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Carter has scored at least 25% of Shaker's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayla Geter, who scored 16 points.
Bethlehem Central has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Shaker, they pushed their record up to 9-3 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Bethlehem Central will square off against Bishop Kearney at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Bishop Kearney's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matchups. As for Shaker, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Colonie Central at 7:00 p.m. Colonie Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 124th, while Shaker is ranked 14th).
