Football Recap: Sunlake Picks Up Fourth Straight Win on the Road

Sunlake put their dominant defense on display in the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Wednesday. They never let the Sickles Gryphons get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory.

Sunlake didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Skylar Graffam and Sofia Bonilla. Graffam is also on a roll when it comes to defended passes, as she's now defended at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another thorn in Sickles' side was Kennedy Schaer, who made 11 total tackles and defended two passes.

Sunlake's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 23.5 points. As for Sickles, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.

Sunlake will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Bell Creek Academy at 4:30 p.m. on March 24th. As for Sickles, they will take on Leto at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sickles' defense has only allowed 4.6 points per game this season, so Leto's offense will have their work cut out for them.
