Recap: Hanna Golden Eagles vs. Edinburg North Cougars
After a string of five wins, the Hanna Golden Eagles's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a serious blow against Edinburg North, falling 67-39. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hanna in their matchups with Edinburg North: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the loss, Hanna still got an impressive performance from Beto Galarza, who scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jesus Leal, who scored six points.
Hanna's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-9. As for Edinburg North, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hanna will take on Los Fresnos at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Los Fresnos focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday. As for Edinburg North, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Weslaco at 7:30 p.m. Weslaco is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
