Softball Recap: North Central Panthers vs. Lawrence Central Bears        
        
		
            
 North Central was the  11-1 winner over Lawrence Central when they last played one another  back in May of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The North Central Panthers fell just short of the Lawrence Central Bears by a score of  4-3 on Friday. North Central has now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
  Kaelee Jacobs was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she  struck out eight batters over  seven innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   six  hits. Jacobs was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with two  doubles, a  stolen base,  and two  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Samantha Saalfrank was cooking despite her team's loss,   scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
 North Central's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Lawrence Central, their victory bumped their record up to 4-11.
 North Central will be staying on the road  on Saturday to face off against New Prairie at 10:30  a.m. New Prairie's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8  runs per game  this season, so North Central's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Lawrence Central, they will head out on the road to  square off against  Living Water Homeschool at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday. Living Water Homeschool will roll in looking for their  seventh straight  win, something Lawrence Central surely won't give up without a fight.
