Ridley had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 41 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 17-13 W against the Upper Darby Royals. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Raiders' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Royals are ranked 244th).

Ridley's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Upper Darby, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Ridley will venture away from home to face off against Harriton at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Raiders will be up against the Rams' rather soft defense (which has allowed 38.5 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Upper Darby, they will square off against Penncrest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
