Recap: Comer Catamounts vs. UIC College Prep Firecats
This season hasn't been kind to the Comer Catamounts, who are still winless after their fifth game. They took a 29-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of UIC College Prep on Thursday. Comer lost against UIC College Prep in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 26-19 score last time.
Leading UIC College Prep to victory were Tyrah Jenkins and Aliyah Benson. Jenkins scored 8 points, while Benson scored 10 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Benson has scored at least 25% of UIC College Prep's points.
Comer's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-5. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.0 points per game. As for UIC College Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.
Comer will head out on the road to face off against Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for UIC College Prep, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pritzker at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Pritzker and UIC College Prep are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads.
