Basketball Recap: Bishop McGuinness Villains vs. Cherokee Braves
Bishop McGuinness and Cherokee squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Bishop McGuinness had to settle for second. They fell to the Cherokee Braves 65-61. The Villains' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Several Villains players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Adelaide Jernigan, who shot 45% from the field en route to 25 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Jernigan is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 17 or more in each of the last 30 games she's played dating back to last season. Jenna Moore was another key player, going 5-for-12 on her way to 14 points and five steals.
Cherokee found their leader in sophomore Joscelyn Stamper, who dropped a double-double with 29 points and 22 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Stamper has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Daisee Fourkiller-Raby, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 18 points.
Bishop McGuinness' defeat dropped their record down to 27-3. As for Cherokee, the win (which was their 16th in a row) raised their record to 27-2.
As of now, neither Bishop McGuinness nor Cherokee have any future games scheduled.
