Soccer Game Preview: Calallen vs. Bishop

The Calallen Wildcats will head out on the road to challenge the Bishop Badgers at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Calallen has four straight wins, Bishop has nine straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Calallen took a three-goal loss the last time they faced off against Jones, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Calallen had just enough and edged out Jones 2-1 on Tuesday. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but the Wildcats were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Bishop scored the most goals they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 4-2 to King.

Calallen pushed their record up to 10-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those three games. As for Bishop, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.

Everything went Calallen's way against Bishop when the teams last played back in January, as Calallen made off with an 8-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Calallen since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
