It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Durant ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Sumner Stingrays 4-3. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Stingrays: they've now won three in a row.

Madyson Lauer got the start for Durant and what a start it was: she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Lauer has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Giana Lopez, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Bristol Bedenbaugh, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Durant's record is now 7-5. As for Sumner, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.
