Soccer Game Preview: Tahlequah vs. Memorial

The Tahlequah Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Memorial Chargers at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

It was a proper cat-fight when Tahlequah took on East Central on Tuesday. The Tigers took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinals. Tahlequah have struggled against East Central recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Memorial managed to keep up with Collinsville until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Chargers came up short against the Cardinals, falling 5-1.

Tahlequah's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Memorial, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-2.

Tahlequah might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Memorial in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
