Softball Game Preview: Fowler Eagles vs. Perry Ramblers

The Fowler Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Perry Ramblers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Fowler had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Plymouth Christian Academy on Saturday. Fowler blew past Plymouth Christian Academy 9-2. Considering Fowler has won seven matchups by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Perry got themselves on the board against Webberville on Wednesday, but Webberville never followed suit. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Spartans, sneaking past 1-0. The Ramblers haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Fowler pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Perry, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

Fowler took their win against Perry in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 8-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
