Baseball Recap: Cary Academy Comes Up Short

Cary Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 6-2 to Providence Day. Cary Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Providence Day apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2022.

Cary Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Oliver Swartz, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and one double. That's the most hits Swartz has posted since back in April of 2024.

Cary Academy now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Providence Day, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cary Academy will take on Trinity Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Providence Day, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against SouthLake Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. SouthLake Christian Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.
