Cabrini had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 14-9 victory over the Fontainebleau Bulldogs on Thursday. The Crescents have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

Makayla Richoux was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. Richoux was also big at the plate, going a perfect 5-for-5 with three doubles, four RBI, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Gabriella Goodick was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Lindsey Thibodeaux was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Cabrini always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fontainebleau only posted an OBP of .353.

Fontainebleau dropped their record down to 1-2 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cabrini will take on Loranger at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Fontainebleau, they will square off against Northlake Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
