Softball Recap: Washington Township Senators vs. Kouts Mustangs & Fillies
Washington Township dropped their record down to 6-9 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They came up short against the Kouts Mustangs & Fillies, falling 13-6. The Senators were not able to make up for their defeat to the Mustangs & Fillies from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.
Hannah Ewing was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
As for Kouts, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-7. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs & Fillies, who have now won five games by seven runs or more so far this season.
On Kouts' side, Lillian Earle was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple. Those two doubles gave Earle a new career-high. Reese Carden also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
Washington Township didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 20-10 win against North Newton on the 12th. As for Kouts, they have also already played their next matchup, a 7-0 loss against South Central on the 12th.
