After a string of eight wins, The Habersham School's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of the Richmond Hill Wildcats by a score of 2-1. The Patriots were not able to make up for their loss to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

The Habersham School started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-13, 15-9.

Myla Shippy paced The Habersham School's offense, picking up 13 kills. Shippy got some help from Betsy Kelly and her 17 assists. Brownette Olson controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Kylee Gilbert was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 16 digs and one assist. Those 16 digs gave her a new career-high.

The Habersham School's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Richmond Hill, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

The Habersham School has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Effingham County on the 19th. As for Richmond Hill, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 win against New Hampstead on the 14th.
