The Habersham School dropped down to 9-3 on Thursday, ending the team's eight-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Richmond Hill Wildcats by a score of 2-1. While the Patriots didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wildcats 25-19 in the first set.

Despite the loss, The Habersham School had strong showings from Betsy Kelly, who had 17 assists and three digs, and Aniston Smeltzer, who had nine digs. Kelly has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more assists the last three times she's played.

As for Richmond Hill, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted against The Habersham School since August 10, 2020.

Richmond Hill can attribute much of their success to Kylee Gilbert, who had 16 digs and one assist. Those 16 digs gave Gilbert a new career-high.

The Habersham School has already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Effingham County on the 19th. As for Richmond Hill, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against New Hampstead on the 14th.
