Football Game Preview: Heritage Pride vs. Rock Ridge Phoenix + How To Watch

Heritage is a perfect 7-0 against Rock Ridge since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Pride will host the Phoenix at 7:00 p.m. Heritage will be strutting in after a victory while Rock Ridge will be coming in after a defeat.

Heritage will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Tuscarora, who they had gone 1-6 against in their seven prior meetings. The Pride were the clear victors by a 34-14 margin over the Huskies on Friday. The Pride might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 20 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Luke Olszewski, who rushed for 207 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also picked up 69 receiving yards and one score. Those 207 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another rusher making a difference was Reed Alexander, who rushed for 188 yards and one TD.

Heritage didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Tuscarora to a completion percentage of just 50%. The team can thank Elijah Woods for the heroic effort on defense: he. Sadly, that's becoming something of a trend for Heritage; they were averaging 60.6%completion percentage earlier this season, but in their last three contests they've fallen to only 0%.

Heritage's defense didn't let Peter Laiti, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Eray Uzan and Jj Jorge, who racked up five sacks between them. Uzan also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with eight.

Meanwhile, Rock Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 67-6 loss at the hands of Loudoun Valley. The Phoenix were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-0.

Heritage's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.7 points over those games. As for Rock Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.

Heritage took their win against Rock Ridge when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 42-20 score. Will the Pride repeat their success, or do the Phoenix have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
